I must stress the fact that I consider Ettore Sottsass one of my great teachers. I took my first steps in the world of design with him, in 1971. Although in recent years he has designed fewer projects for Alessi (but his range of objects is still one of the largest in the catalogue and he continues to be highly rated by the Alessi public), I always apply the very useful lessons he gave me to my daily design management activities. This is why it also gives me great pleasure to present the new version of the “Ginevra” glasses, which were the missing piece in his Alessi table project. For some years they were no longer included in the catalogue, due to production difficulties, but now they have been redesigned and re-engineered in relation to their functional requirements and to production needs. Last but not least, the price of this new set is much lower. The objects designed by Sottsass between the 1970s and the 1990s are among the most numerous, distinctive and interesting sets of items in our portfolio. The new version of these crystal glasses (2003) completes his project for the Alessi table.
