“ My design, amid all the others, is different, the joker in the pack. It seeks to bear witness to an ancient, in fact very ancient, attitude: in our times, characterized by hyper-technological and hyper-sophisticated hyper-design, I sought to present a cheap and paradoxical sign, in which the material used was plain wood carved and gouged out with an awl. The project has virtually no design: it was described verbally and conceived together with a sculptor and woodcarver in the mountains, as a revisitation of a tradition that goes back almost beyond time.” - A.
