The domestic image “par excellence”, the ladle and similar utensils have always been part of the kitchen’s … and Alessi’s historic tradition. In a semantic history of objects, it is almost certainly one of those richest in significance and symbols. Whether in wood or metal, the ladle is the emblematic standard of “creating in the kitchen” - an “insignia par excellence”. The fact that it is almost always displayed in view is not dictated by mere chance nor by a real necessity for its immediate use. This new project, developed with delicate technical virtuosity - its expressiveness culminates differentiated thickness obtained through lamination along the length of all of the handles - is a small, refined minimalist masterpiece in the style of Jasper Morrison, in search of absolute “ladling capacity”: a mysterious mix of traditional and contemporary imagery which calls to mind the concept of “home”.
