Marcel Wanders to Create Exclusive Installation for Alessi during ICFF

New York, NY (May 2011) – Alessi, the iconic Italian kitchen and housewares company, is
pleased to announce their event entitled “Dressed” which will take place on Monday, May 16th
from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Alessi Soho store at 130 Greene St. nr. Prince St. during the
International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York City. Internationally renowned
designer Marcel Wanders has created, on the occasion of the ICFF and exclusively for Alessi, an
artistic interpretation of his Dressed tableware collection in the form of a video installation.

Marcel will attend the party and, prior to the event, will be present for a Q & A session from 5:30
to 6:00 pm. A select group of design bloggers will be able to pose questions to Marcel in real
time, posting to their blogs and Twitter feeds during the event using the Twitter hashtag
#MarcelatAlessiNYC. A live rolling Twitter feed of the event activity will also be displayed during
the press preview.

The Dressed collection was introduced at the New York International Gift Fair (NYIGF) in
January. Composed of a complete collection of silverware, dishware and glassware in stainless
steel, porcelain and crystal, the collection is reminiscent of Wanders’ baroque sensibility and
intricate detail. Using the tagline, “Today we don’t eat, we dine,” Dressed is formal enough for the
most lavish of dinner parties, yet understated enough to be used every day.
