Chicago Athenaeum honors Alessi
Renowned Designs Receive a 2009 GOOD DESIGN Award
New York, NY (January 2010) — Alessi is pleased to announce the following products have earned a prestigious 2009 GOOD DESIGN® Award from the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design; “Disco Volante” by Piero Lissoni, ”Alberto’s Vineyard” by EOOS, ”Bettina” Glassware by Future Systems, ”marli” Basket by Steve Blaess and ”screw.it”, ”salt.it”, ”pepper.it” by Wiel Arets as well as his washbasin design for ILBAGNOALESSIDot. The oldest competition of its kind, GOOD DESIGN has evaluated entries based on innovation, form, materials and construction, concept, function, utility, and aesthetic appeal since 1950. In 2009, the museum received hundreds of submissions from more than 35 nations and handed out over 500 GOOD DESIGN awards. The Alessi products will be featured with other award recipients on the Chicago Athenaeum website.
