Alessi to Open First Brooklyn Pop-Up Shop in Dekalb Market through the Holidays

New York, NY – Alessi, the renowned Italian kitchen and housewares company, will open its first New York pop-up shop in Brooklyn’s Dekalb Market for the holiday season. Housed in a salvaged shipping container, the Alessi shop will be selling some of its most iconic pieces next to a collection of Brooklyn and New York’s finest up-and-coming design and culinary talents.
Dekalb Market is an installation of shipping containers in downtown Brooklyn featuring an eclectic assortment of retail and food vendors. Open since July 2011, the market is the ideal destination for a unique shopping experience in New York. A new community in Downtown Brooklyn, Dekalb Market brings together Brooklyn’s creative entrepreneurs in a community setting that includes an incubator farm, events and performance venue, and a collection of eateries and work-sell spaces.
“Bringing Alessi to a place like Dekalb Market is an exciting and unexpected venture for Alessi. We look forward to the possibilities that this location and venue will bring throughout the holiday season,” says Paolo Cravedi, Managing Director of Alessi US.
The shop will include items from the A di Alessi line and the Alessi line, focusing on gift items that are appropriate for everyone. Among the featured items will be crowd pleasers such as the Moka Alessi coffee maker by Alessandro Mendini, already an instant classic in the line, as well as other ranges such as the small “objet bijoux” stainless steel items including a spaghetti measure, purse hook, spoon rest and chili cruncher, all priced under $30 and perfect for stocking stuffers and hostess gifts. A selection of kitchen and household items will complete the assortment.
