From 27th October to 6th November 2011, the Alessi Flagship Store in Aoyama, Tokyo, will host a double exhibition under the title of “Alessi Dream Factory”. The Aoyama flagship store designed by Alessandro Mendini will show two different exhibitions on the occasion of the Tokyo Design Tide (29th October – 3rd November 2011).

On the ground floor, a selection of pieces from Alessi’s 90-year history will be displayed through a graphical presentation designed by Martí Guixé. The 90 years are shown through nine groups of pieces that are highly representative of developments made in each decade of the company’s history.
On the first floor, the presentation also offers a peek into future projects at Alessi with a selection of desk and office objects developed through a workshop with students of ECAL, the University of Art and Design Lausanne, Switzerland. Some of the student-designed pieces are to go into production in 2012.
On Thursday, 27th October a press preview is to be held with special attendance of Elric Petit, head of ECAL’s bachelor’s programme in industrial design and director of the workshop with Alessi.
