The fruit holder that dances around the fruit

Movement is the main characteristic of this second project for Alessi by Odile Decq. The “Twist Again” fruit holder originates from a piece of sheet metal, cut and folded to create a dynamic shape, a vortex of lines and surfaces that spread out from the centre. Once again, this designer has come up with a small-scale version of some of the elements typical of her work. Projects that generate a dynamic vision of tension, flux and movement.

The Designer

Odile Decq

Odile Decq studied architecture at the Universities of Rennes and Paris. She is one of the few women architects to have received some of the most prestigious awards in her profession, from the Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale in 1996 to the recent Designer of the Year at the Salon Maison & Objet 2013. She is internationally known for always having fought, in this world of men, to express her sensorial and protean vision that continue to redefine the boundaries of her profession and which she has called “hypertension", meaning the fact that a space should make us move, i.e. it should put us “in tension".
