Glass/bottle coaster has been designed by a Maestro of Italian design, known the world over, Ettore Sottsass. It's in production since 1979, and is one of the oldest products in the catalogue Alessi. It has become a classic, a true archetype of bar and private service "essential" objects, with its proportions, lightness and function.
The Designer
Ettore Sottsass
Born in Innsbruck in 1917, he is known the world over as one of the initiators of the revolution in architecture and design which led away from the rigid functionalism of the years prior to and following the Second World War. A great and influential Maestro of Italian design, the energy of his language and the vitality of his colour and line contrast sharply with any intellectualism and rigidity. He dies in December 2007.

The delivery of the products purchased on www.alessi.com takes place within 2 working days in Italy and 3-5 working days for all other Countries.
The delivery times can undergo delays due to inventory or the following US festivity: Sept 4 Kids Back to School, November 23rd Thanksgiving, December 25th Christmas Day
An extra working day, compared to the above terms, is required for orders paid for by credit card to allow for standard administration procedures.
